The Ethiopian coffee growing regions include Harar, Sidamo, Yirgacheffe, and Limu, which are trademarked names owned by Ethiopia. Ethiopian Sidamo and Yirgacheffe coffee produce a type of arabica coffee with a deep spice, chocolate like taste and floral aroma. There is also a note of lemon, or citrus, with a crisp acidity. Harar, in the eastern highlands of Ethiopia, is one of the oldest coffee beans, known for its distinctive fruity, wine-like flavor. Ethiopia is the world's 7th largest coffee producer, and Africa's largest, with roughly 1/3 of the country's total exports come from coffee production and over 15 million Ethiopians employed in the coffee industry.
